Privacy policy

Who we are
LumaSymbolics is a studio of Zylo Technology. This policy covers the readings on this site. Orders in our Etsy shop are handled by Etsy under its own policy. Questions and requests go to support@zylotechnology.com.
What we collect, and why
Your email address, to send your sign-in link, keep your maps together, send you the PDF of a reading you unlock (and again whenever you ask for it), and tell you when a topic you asked about opens (only if you asked). Your birth date, time, stated uncertainty and place, the chart line you chose, and your goal, current city and countries, to calculate your reading. Your readings, how many of their lights you have revealed and whether you unlocked them; for each payment, its amount, currency and Stripe's reference for it, never your card details. Messages you send through the contact form. If you answer or skip the question of how you found us, we keep that with your account. We also record the steps you take in a reading and when (opening a card or the sky, sharing, downloading, starting a purchase, switching language), to improve it. We look at anonymous totals (how many readings, which goals, which cities come up, how long the writing takes) to run and improve the service; we never use your profile for advertising or build a marketing profile of you.
What stays out
No advertising trackers and no analytics cookies. The site sets one essential cookie that keeps you signed in, and your browser remembers your language choice and which helper character it has already shown you; your birth details and email are never stored in your browser. Share pictures are drawn on your own device; the picture itself is never sent to us. Our servers keep no access logs of visitors' IP addresses; to stop abuse they count requests per address for a few minutes, stored only in hashed form. When something you ask our servers for fails, we note the time, which request it was and the error, without your IP address, and keep the note for at most 30 days, only to fix problems. We do not sell or rent your information.
Who helps us
Your data is stored on our server in Toronto, Canada, hosted by DigitalOcean. The website runs on Cloudflare, emails are sent by Resend, place searches use OpenStreetMap's Nominatim (our server does the lookup, not your device), and contact-form messages reach us through Web3Forms. Payments go through Stripe: we give it your email address and the order, and you enter your card details and the billing address it asks for on Stripe's own page, so they reach Stripe only; Stripe uses the address to work out sales tax. To write the words of your reading, we send a short summary of it to Google (the Gemini API) and OpenAI (their API), on terms under which they do not use it to train their models, and it may be checked once more on a computer we run ourselves. The summary holds features of your chart, such as your month branch, day master, Sun sign and likely rising sign, and the cities being written about. It never holds your name, email, birth date, time or place, and it does not name the city you live in now, although how the cities sit relative to one another can hint at your region. If you use the helper on the start page, what you type there is read by a program on a computer we run ourselves, so it can fill in the form for you. It is not sent to any AI company. An email address you type there never reaches that program: it is used only to send you the sign-in email, the same as typing it into the form. Nothing else you type is kept once the reply is sent.
How long we keep it
Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and sign-ins after 30 days. Your profile, readings and email stay until you ask us to delete them, because they are how you get back to your readings. The PDF of an unlocked reading is kept on our server so we can send it again, and it is deleted with the reading. If you ask us to delete your data, we also delete your orders, except the payment record of each completed purchase (order number, amount, currency, date and the payment processor's reference, never your name, email, birth details or reading), which we keep for six years because tax law requires it and so we can answer a chargeback. Stripe keeps its own record of each payment under its privacy policy, which deleting your data here does not remove. The working notes from writing a reading's words (the summary we sent, the drafts and the checks) are deleted after 90 days; the finished words stay with the reading. Your answer about how you found us stays with your account and goes when it is deleted; the record of the steps you took in a reading is deleted after 90 days. A request to hear when a topic opens is kept until the topic opens or you ask us to remove it.
Your choices
Write to support@zylotechnology.com from the email you use here to see what we hold, correct it or delete it; we answer within 30 days. Birth details inside a finished reading cannot be edited, so cast a new map instead. Deleting your data removes your maps, including any you unlocked, and is not refunded. Copies in our backups roll off within 30 days.
Children
Luma is not meant for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly keep their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
Your access and purchases
Your email is the key to your readings. When you cast, we email you a 6-digit code and a link. Type the code on the page where you asked, or open the link in that same browser; each works once and expires after 15 minutes. If they expire, just send a new email, up to five an hour. Signing in keeps this browser signed in for 30 days. On another device, open My readings, enter the same email and type the new code there. Anyone who can open your inbox can open your readings, so log out from My readings on a shared computer.
Unlocking opens the full map straight away, so all sales are final and we do not offer refunds. That is why your first city is free, with its full card: you can see how the reading speaks to you before you pay. If a payment is reversed through your bank, the full map closes again.
What a reading is
Luma readings are symbolic interpretations, for insight and fun. They put traditional systems side by side; they are not forecasts of events and not advice about moving, careers, relationships, health, law or money. Make important decisions with the people and professionals who know your situation. We make no promise that a reading is complete or suitable for any purpose.
Using our content
The readings, texts and images on this site are original work by LumaSymbolics and Zylo Technology. Your reading is yours to keep and to show friends and family, but not to resell or republish. Short quotes with a link back are welcome.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, LumaSymbolics and Zylo Technology are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of this site or its readings. Everything here is provided as is, for reflection and entertainment.
